CRUDE OIL WEEKLY UPDATE (Week Ending 02-23-24)

Crude Oil Summary (EIA):

U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 14.6 million barrels per day during the week ending February 16, 2024, which was 31 thousand barrels per day more than the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 80.6% of their operable capacity last week. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.0 million barrels per day. Distillate fuel production increased last week, averaging 4.2 million barrels per day. U.S. crude oil imports averaged 6.7 million barrels per day last week, increased by 184 thousand barrels per day from the previous week. Over the past four weeks, crude oil imports averaged about 6.4 million barrels per day, 4.7% less than the same four-week period last year. Total motor gasoline imports (including both finished gasoline and gasoline blending components) last week averaged 734 thousand barrels per day, and distillate fuel imports averaged 245 thousand barrels per day. U.S. commercial crude oil inventories (excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) increased by 3.5 million barrels from the previous week. At 443.0 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 2% below the five year average for this time of year. Total motor gasoline inventories decreased by 0.3 million barrels from last week and are about 2% below the five year average for this time of year. Finished gasoline inventories decreased, while blending components inventories increased last week. Distillate fuel inventories decreased by 4.0 million barrels last week and are about 10% below the five year average for this time of year. Propane/propylene inventories decreased by 2.3 million barrels from last week and are 4% above the five year average for this time of year. Total commercial petroleum inventories decreased by 0.8 million barrels last week. Total products supplied over the last four-week period averaged 19.6 million barrels a day, down by 2.0% from the same period last year. Over the past four weeks, motor gasoline product supplied averaged 8.3 million barrels a day, down by 2.3% from the same period last year. Distillate fuel product supplied averaged 3.8 million barrels a day over the past four weeks, down by 0.6% from the same period last year. Jet fuel product supplied was up 1.4% compared with the same four-week period last year. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil was $79.65 per barrel on February 16, 2024, $2.39 higher than a week ago, and $3.34 more than a year ago. The New York Harbor spot price for conventional gasoline decreased to $2.348 per gallon, $0.006 less than a week ago, and $0.149 less than the yearago price. The spot price for No. 2 heating oil at New York Harbor declined $0.152 to $2.727 per gallon, $0.091 more than the price last year. The national average retail price for regular gasoline rose to $3.269 per gallon on February 19, 2024, $0.077 above last week’s price, and $0.11 less than the year-ago price. The national average retail diesel fuel price was unchanged at

$4.109 per gallon, $0.267 lower than the price one year ago.

Pipe Exchange LLC (“Pipe Exchange,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) respects your privacy. This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) explains the accepted privacy practices for our online service and product listings (collectively, the “Services”) found via our website at https://pipexch.com/ (the “Website”). Personal Information that Pipe Exchange collects

In the course of signing up for the Pipe Exchange e-publication and/or contacting Pipe Exchange via the “Contact Us” section of the Website, you may choose to provide personal information (e.g., your name, phone number, email address, etc.). We will explicitly indicate the fields designated for mandatory completion. If you do not enter the requisite data in the mandatory fields, you will not be able to receive the e-publication and/or complete the relevant contact form.  It’s important that you understand there is no requirement by law for you to provide Pipe Exchange with your personal details – the information you share with us is entirely voluntary.

 

We request that you provide Pipe Exchange with complete, accurate and correct details. Your failure to do so will likely result in Pipe Exchange being unable to contact you about your inquiries into our Services.

Information gathered when using the Services

  • If Pipe Exchange reasonably believes that you have abused your rights to use any of the Services, or performed any act or omission that Pipe Exchange reasonably believes to be violating any applicable law, rules, or regulations. Pipe Exchange may share your information in these cases, with law enforcement and other competent authorities and with any third party, as may be required to handle any result of your wrongdoing;
  • If Pipe Exchange reasonably believes that it is required by law to share or disclose your information in order to prevent, investigate, or take action regarding illegal activities.  In addition, to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;

Children’s Online Privacy Information

Pipe Exchange does not knowingly collect personal information from minors who are under the age of 16 through the Website and/or the Services thereon. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without his/her consent, then he or she should contact Pipe Exchange at the information described below. If we become aware that a child under the age of 16 has provided us with personally identifiable information, we will delete such information from our files. Further, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires parental consent for collection of data from children younger than the age of 13 years old.
