Argus Pipe Logix Line Pipe Report – July 2026

(by Rye Druzin, www.pipe-logix.com) US line pipe: Prices up on tight supply – Tight supply of line pipe products in the US helped push prices up to three-year highs. The Argus line pipe index rose by $45/short to (st) in July to $2,755/st, the highest since June 2023. The Argus domestic line pipe index increased by $57/ st to $3,071/st, while the import index rose by $34/st to $2,439/st. All domestic prices rose, with the seamless average up by $68/st to $3,843/st, and welded prices up by $46/st to $2,298/st. Almost all import prices rose with welded prices up by $45/st to $1,897/st, and seamless prices up by $23/st to $2,981/st. Supply tight, data centers buy up larger pipe Line pipe mill availability remained limited and data centers put additional pressure on larger diameter pipe supplies. Multiple distributors said data centers were buying up large diameter pipe 16 inches in diameter and above, with one adding that data centers were also purchasing pipe down to 12 inches in diameters. Another line pipe distributor said some domestic lead times for line pipe 16 inches in diameter and wider have pushed out to the first or second quarter of 2027.
