Steel Shipments Flat, Aluminum Up for the U.S., Down in Canada – Growth in shipments slowed substantially for steel in the U.S. but actually grew at an increased rate for aluminum.  Shipments declined for both metals in Canada. U.S.  Service Center Activity – U.S. service center steel shipments in September 2018 increased by 0.8% from September 2017. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 5.2% from the same month in 2017. Canadian Service Center Activity- Canadian steel center shipments in September 2018 decreased by 4.8% from September 2017. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 3.9% from the same month in 2017.
