August Data Shows Year-Over-Year Shipment Increases Across U.S. and Canada – MSCI Metals Activity for August 2026 shows positive year-over-year service center shipment results across the U.S. and Canada. U.S. steel shipments increased 11.6% from August 2025, and U.S. aluminum shipments increased 13.8%. In Canada, steel shipments increased 8.3%, and aluminum shipments increased 1.3% from the same month in 2025. The results reflect year-over-year increases across both product categories and countries for the month. U.S. Service Center Activity – U.S. service center steel shipments in August 2026 were +11.6% from August 2025. Shipments of aluminum products were +13.8% from the same month in 2025. Canadian Service Center Activity – Canadian service center steel shipments in August 2026 were +8.3% from August 2025. Shipments of aluminum products were +1.3% from the same month in 2025.
