MSCI Metals Activity for June 2025 shows ongoing softness in metals shipments across North American service centers. In the United States, steel shipments dropped 5.0% and aluminum shipments fell 4.2% compared to June 2024, both seasonally adjusted. Canada also experienced notable declines, with steel shipments down 7.4% and aluminum down 10.6%. These results mark another consecutive month of subdued demand and persistent inventory pressures throughout the supply chain. U.S. Service Center Activity – U.S. service center steel shipments in June 2025 were -5.0% (seasonally adjusted) from June 2024. Shipments of aluminum products were -4.2% (seasonally adjusted) from the same month in 2024. Canadian Service Center Activity – Canadian service center steel shipments in June 2025 were -7.4% (seasonally adjusted) from June 2024. Shipments of aluminum products were -10.6% (seasonally adjusted) from the same month in 2024.
